Profile
The Saikyo Bank, Ltd., which has its head office in Tokuyama City (Yamaguchi Prefecture), one of Japan's largest petro-chemical Kombinat cities, was established in 1930, since which time it has played an important role in the development of the economy of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The bank changed its operating nature from a mutual-savings-and-loans bank (sogo bank) to a regional bank in February 1989, when the name of the bank was also changed from“THE YAMAGUCHI SOGO BANK, LTD.”to“THE SAIKYO BANK, LTD.”.
The bank, conducting business affairs chiefly centered on the prefecture, has opened offices in Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Osaka and Tokyo, and has provided, as a bank contributing to regional communities, various services which fit regional needs through its extensive network consisting of 64 branches.
With the recent expansion of the internationalization of the Japanese economy, the prefecture has also doubtless been influenced.
In response to such circumstances, the bank, which places its business base in the prefecture, has put stress on the improvement and strengthening of its international business department, and is making advance into the fields not only of foreign trade but also of capital transactions and foreign investments.
Through its long career, the bank intends to continue the repeated efforts to be a bank which supports the prefecture's economy for the coming 21st century.
